Hello,

I'm Soulex? and the question mark is actually a part of my name :) . I've been scouring the internet looking for forums to join that weren't DP photos or something else. So I'm glad I stumbled on this one!

About me: Currently in the process in moving to Seattle. I am a video journalist by trade, and photography is mainly a hobby/something that I want to get into eventually. I emphasize in sports photography and try to stay in the realm of football (not American Football). I'm a huge football fan, especially of Serie A. I try to find humor in a lot of things because laughter helps with everything in life.

I hope to learn a few things here, as well as hang out and be an active member. Most of my friends look at me like I'm talking gibberish when I critique "professional" photos of someone that shoots in their area when I bring up rule of thirds and everything.

My gear is decent for an amateur, and am saving up to get a sigma 120-300 2.8 right now. 2-3 grand is a lot to drop on new glass.

I've already been browsing it for a while and I'm surprised at the depth of content! I'm a little shocked about the whole football league no photos rule, but it makes sense. I was able to take a camera to see my Italian team and shoot from the stands. Didn't try to sell them or anything, it was just for me. Football photography is something I would like to do when I leave the military, and am working on getting my degree in that field. I don't care where it is, but just being able to shoot the beautiful game for a living would be great! Right now I just do lower league stuff, especially for my local team until I leave. It's win-win. I shoot for them and get practice, and they get a photographer that they've been wanting for a while. It's just a shame I had to get injured to take me off the team for that to happen :(
 
Hi Soulex? and welcome to the forums, I think your the only member on here with such an unusual name and with a question mark at the end. Do you actually sign documents and cheques ect with the question mark? Hope you gain some valuable info regarding your goal to a pro tog in the sports field.
 
Well, I don't sign my stuff as Soulex ;).

I've been using the name for about 15+ years on the internet over various games. One time my friends and I were in a server together and there was another Soulex there. I was messing around as a different name and after the guy wouldn't talk and kept killing them, they just asked "Soulex?" And since then it kinda stuck. Lots of people with my name out there, I just found a way to make it special. I guess. :confused:
