I'll be Dan and I'm 24.5. I'm new to the theory of photography but a an internet veteran since the WWW when I was 8. Some of you may recognise nice the name from other forums, Overclockers UK being the main. I'm also quite into my cars.
I've had an Olympus E-10 since they came out. They were £1400 back then when my dad bought one and I've been using it since. I haven't been that motivated with Photography recently but after a disappointing 2009 in all aspects of life I've decided that I'm going to try and fulfill my creative desires and see if it can take me places. Fingers crossed!
Sadly, the E-10 is very long in the tooth now with its fixed lens and max 320 ISO but I like to think I've done well with it. My aim is to pick up a Canon 40D at some point this year, hopefully before we go on our potential holiday to Mull. I'm pretty handy with Photoshop whcih has kept the E-10 alive a bit as I can make a poor photo somewhat presentable, at least I'm happy with them. The only obvious thing is over sharpening as it's very easy to get a bit of lost focus of blue with the E-10 if it's not a brillaint summers day.
I don't know much about photography, I just mess with the settings and take pictures but my main goal this year is to learn what I can and use it practically. I have just bought the following books to start me off:
The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby
Digital Photography Masterclass by Tom Ang
Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson
Now that's the boring blurb over with, here's some of my pics from over the years. Mostly dog pics taken whilst camping in Scotland (the main time I use my cmaera really). Bordered pics are marmite I know, I thought it was cool once.

I'm probably going to pick up a semi decent tripod and CPL for the E-10 whilst I save up for a 40D + glass. No doubt I'll be asking for advice nearer the time anyway. Thanks for watching and I hope you like what you see
