Must happen to everybody sooner or later - you realise just what you have actually done. In my case? I just spent more on a lens cap than I did for the camera... and it wasn't a cheap camera either :bonk:
Never quite that bad - though I did once spend the same money on the correct front and back caps for a lens as I did for the lens, even though it came with a seviceable rear cap (no front one though - just a skylight filter that looked as if it had been bead blasted!)
Sadly this is often the case with older cameras, especially those with weird thread sizes like Olympus used on it's rangefinders and the Trip 35. Buying an origional lenscap for a trip often costs more than buying a camera with one!
