[TOPMINT] Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm F4-6.3 Micro-Four-Thirds Lens for £575 including discount voucher . New here in UK £1400.
I have been looking for a long time getting this lens and most on close inspection have internal dust problems. This one as far as I can tell is dust free or possibly almost. Many also don't include the tripod foot attachment or a lens cover missing.
The £75 discount should cover import tax.vat etc

If it is as good as advetised then I shall sell my 100-300mm lens reducing the cost even more.
Just looked at the site again and see the other one advertised is no longer there either

Keep looking they come along like buses .. the only thing that worries me is import duties

Jeff

You have to compare a used Japan mint or near mint lens against new in the UK. Even after import duty etc you should be able to pay a lot less than a UK new retail price. this will be my third purchase from Japan and spent a lot less than buying over here. As long as your insured there should be nothing to worry about. you also get a time to return if not as described

Mike thank you so much for letting me know

Nothing wrong in asking but I have already ordered the Pana 100-400 mm version and it is with the courier right now. Couple of things worth noting. The dual stablisation is not available with Ollie lens and there may well be issues about weather sealing between both makes. I did read somewhere that although both are MFT fit there may well be a discrepency on the actual part that connect to the camera????? .

So thank you very much for the heads up anyway

Panasonic on the left and ollie on the right. above showing the end differences which could affect weather sealing. could be just the fixing screw position or even down to the rubber sealing ring size being a bit different. even the cutouts in the metal could cause an issue.

Just a word of warning bazaa , I started with the Panasonic on a omd.em1-mkii and although it was sharp enough I found it a very very tight fit on the Olympus mount and noticed that every time I took it off the camera it had managed to shred fine particles of brass swarf in the camera

Jeff. A good tip for anyone with that setup. I only have panasonic camera and lenses, so that should not happen. I am and have been weary of mix and match since I read about someone their gear getting ruined by rain. something about gaps on where the camera/lens mate together

Yeah allegedly all MFT should retro fit ,but there is a definite tolerance issue ,plus functionality as well

That 100-400 swarf problem was with one batch that had an issue with the mount casting.
I remember being at the photo show that year when it was first noticed and mentioned to the Olympus reps.

Going slightly off topic, I have found the OM 25mm to be a very tight fit on the OM3 body, unlike other lenses. Eased it slightly by rubbing the seal with a tiny amount of dry (silicon) lubricant applied with a cotton bud. Hopefully it will improve with time.
