Yes
I've tried a forum and Google search but seem to find some conflicting advise.

Looking to get a square filter system for my D7000 and 16-85mm lens.

I have just ordered a 100mm hitech set off Amazon but will this be too big? Could I have got away with an 85mm set?

Possibly looking to get a wider zoom in the future something like a 11-16 or 12-24.

Possibly 85mm.
I've got a 10-20mm for my D7000 and was looking at 85mm filters. Not bought anything yet

From what I can find on Google searches the 85MM filters vignette on anything wider than a full frame equivalent of 28mm unless you modify a holder down to one or two slots. But that'll still vignette at around 12/13mm on a crop sensor

I have emailed Formatt-Hitech and also SRB filters to see what they say

It's the Srb wide angle holder and filters I've been looking at. The wide angle holder only takes 1 filter.
Let me know what they say.:)

100m definetly the right size, 85m will be limiting in future.

That's what I am thinking I have hopefully future proofed myself.

I will do there seems to be a lack of actual facts about what filter sizes are suitable for what focal lengths, everything seems to be based on lens diameter

SRB say they don't recommend a wider focal length than 24mm (full frame) with there P filter system.

Hitech have said anything below 28mm may produce vignetting with more than 2 filters.

Think I am going to stick with 85mm/P filters as most of my photos seems to be taken at 28mm (full frame) or longer.
