I never realised till sent him a message, then alarm bells started ringing
1 – Only personal emails, not ebay coms
2 – Listing states in Dunfermline but when i offered to collect via a friend the lens has moved 120 miles
3 – Asked condition, optics etc never answered this just told me he would do £1600 Buy-It-Now with free UK postage and lens has now moved to Aberdeen
4 – I Sent reply, stating i was in Aberdeen as from tomorrow (this is true i am) and could collect and pay cash. The reply i got was He's away on a business trip
5 – Sent him another email with regarding condition (still never sent me a answer on this one) and also i can arrange to collect another day, had no reply
6 – Auction is only 24hr and the private by email buy-it-now is half the normal price.
Proof again to good to be true normally means its not true
I have reported to ebay but I wont hold my breath they will act

Always wise to proceed with extreme caution when buying anything over £50 IMHO.:thumbs:
 
This sounds very familiar to what happened to me about 18 months ago. As I live in Dundee, I sais that I would collect and pay cash. The lens then moved to Aberdeen and, as I worked in Aberdeen, I said I would collect and pay cash. I never heard any more.
 
its happening a lot on there ,caravans being the ones that are flagged up to me quite often ,either there in northern scotland ,the hebrides or france .its always a case of we can deliver it to you as well .the seller with zero feedback ,trailer-tents and folding campers to ,if they strike lucky once every 50 goes there on big money ,caveat emptor .
the grandson wanted to buy a car interior a couple of weeks back ,down in essex so i text the guy and said i'll pick it up as i,m down that way (this btw is pre-sale) that weekend ,the answer was ,you can't as its at the couriers for dispatch ,whaaaaaaaat before its even sold .
