So, this morning I am covering a local race off spec. Job done, nice stuff, will post some images in general.
This afternoon was covering a job off spec for BBC online, a charity football match between BBC Bristol and Glos Cricket team. Get on site at about 1.30, buy a coffee, manage to blag a couple of asprins from the girl behind the bar as had a block rocking head ache and ask her out for a drink. Anyway, having a chat and a laugh when we both smell smoke. She opened the door to the cellar........
Smoke everywhere. Turns out the boiler room was on fire and very heavy. All evacuated , 3 fire engines called and was a big deal with loads of smoke damage and fire damage. Also the brigade had to smash through two locked doors.
All this is going on when local celebs are waiting to play the game. I nailed some terrific stuff and have subbed loads of images to local and a wider local paper on request. The downside, I only took my 300mm 2.8 as I did not expect this.......
Of course, it is a very damaging fire to Mangotsfield UTD Football club, which is a shame and I have already decided that if they have some sort of raise money campaign I will give them my profit from the images.
