Another backpack - help required.

Ok, had a quick search but nothing has really jumped out at me.

I've currently got a Lowepro Computrekker AW, but the zips are failing. One side of the main zip now wont zip up and I have to zip all the way around, and use the additional securing straps.

So I'm looking for a replacement. I fancy another Lowepro as this one has been excellent, but I don't know what to replace it.

I like the proper backpack style as I do a lot of walking with mine and I like the zip the front open to get to everything style.

My current backpack holds my Canon 50D, with 24-105 attached, 10-22mm, 70-200 f2.8IS, 100-400, 50mm f1.4, 2x tc, 580 ex flash plus battery charger. There's the usual extras in the pockets.

I've got a MiniTrekker for when I want to go lightweight, has anyone any suggestions for a replacement, ideally that I can take as hand luggage on planes, but that's not essential as I could travel light with the smaller minitrekker.

I've seen a Pro Trekker 400AW, am I starting to get into heavy bags now or is that a good replacement. Any other suggestions?
 
I have a Kata 123 go 30 and for the size its astonishing what I can fit in...

canon 1dsmk2 with 24-105l attached, 70-200f4l, 100mm f2, 50mm 1.4, 15mm fisheye, 40mm 2.8, 430ex2.. then in the top compartment which is just as padded as the main I will put in an extra body, triggers, cables etc and a couple of snacks, or just use it as a lunchbox.

from the outside you would never say it is holding that much, its a tardis

I was looking at a pro trekker 400 but then i found out about the american f stop mountain range of bags. More expensive but the are just what I need. Room for camera kit and mountain kit too. In the process of saving now :) check http://fstopgear.com/product/mountain
 
I've got the Pro Trekker 400 - it's huge! It's awkward when you're in tight/urban space and it's heavy.

I love my back however I use it to transport lots of kit when I (used to) go rallying. Walking around the forests it's fine - used to put my 300 2.8, D3, 70-200, 14-24, 24-70, flash etc etc - you name it. Could also fit the Nikon 600/4 at a push.
 
Doesn't LowePro's long warranty cover zips?
 
No unfortunately not. I've previously asked the uk distributor if I could get it repaired as the centre belt has started to tear where it meets the backpack, as well as the main zip issue, but both are just down to wear and tear.

Cheers, size and weight were my concerns. It looks like I'll have to take a trip to a store.
 
Vanguard up-rise 45 here. I can get my D800 with up to a 70-200 attached. a 105mm, a 24-70, a 50mm into the main compt. In the top section, which is nice and roomy, I get my rocket blower, all my cards and batteries, an SB-900, my BR-sport strap, a torch, pens, cloths etc ... It's got tripod support on the side, more pockets for papers, and other bits and bobs. It's really comfortable and it's tidy. Doesn't look big or bulky but fits as much as you'd need for general shooting.
 
I have the pro Trekker and find it exelaint for landscape work , very comfy with lots of versatility . It is big though and could be awkward in tight spaces .

I got wedged in a turnstyle with it on once at Swallow Falls in Betws Coed, Snowdonia.
 
I've read somewhere the ProRunner 350 is the Computrekker's replacement?
 
Best solution I've found for hiking and photography gear is make your own,

Use a Lowe Alpine Centro 45 backpack and slot a camera insert into the side access panel, works a treat...great airflow harness system, strapping to carry tripod centrally on front, lots of room for personal gear...far better than any of the dedicated "photo packs" of which F Stop is probably the best but at a silly price and not nearly as well designed as a hiking backpack

I absolutely love my Tilopa BC, I questioned myself at first for spending so much on a bag, but having used it now for about 10 months I'd happily spend the money again on one.
