Has anyone on here any experience of the cheap angle viewfinders you get on ebay? I need to get one but the Nikon version is a tad expensive. :shake:

i have one, does exactly what you would expect but isnt the most secure fit on the eyepiece. for the price (i paid about £20) you cant go wrong.

Look for some old kit getting sold on the auction sites.
You may be able to pick up an angle finder with the kit for less than it would cost for the angle finder.;)

I really miss the flip out LCD screen which you get on compacts - they're great for getting real low POV shots without kneeling or lying in the mud. The right angle finders are great for copying work and for getting a bit lower viewpoints but you still need to get your eye to the eyepiece so you're back in the mud if it's a really low shot.

I think I'd seriously consider the Zigview option?

H - The Nikon DR-6 sells here for £199 which as you say is a bit steep but you can pick them up for "only" £123 delivered from OneStopDigital ...

Hi.

USED TO HAVE AN OLD Konica Minolta Dimage camera that had an angled viewfinder and flip screen - very handy for low level / awkward angled shots.

Not seen them for the Nikon (wouldn't mind one for the D50) - but not at that price - I'll strain my neck instead!!!!

Anth.

Colin,
I got one off ebay for my D70 but havent really used it yet :embarrassed: . Its been stuck in my bag for about a year but I will use it one day ;) .
I tried it out once and the fit was ok (but a bit tight). From memory it is a zoom model but the focus alters when you zoom in - might not be a problem.
Manufacturer is 'Seagull', it come with 2 or 3 adaptors for different camera eyepieces. Bought it off 'URGalaxy' - ebay ID.

I never properly tested it, but maybe I'll have a go tonight if I get time and I'll let you know. :)
