Hi Andy, good idea for the shot, you have too many cameras mate!

Hi Andy and welcome

Great idea for Development but I´ve got problems with the composition as there is such a loss of detail in making it a panoramic shot and if they are displayed in order then the oldest should be on the left and the newest on the right as that how we tend to see development occuring.

Sorry it´s not a lot more positive as it really is a good idea  but don´t let what I´ve said put you off as it´s only my opinion.

Glad you are joining the club

Never though of doing a panoramic shot as its just one photo. Didn't know about the left and the right aswell.

Hi Andy - and welcome from me, too

I agree with Bruja about the left-right thing, but it's still a great idea and photographic technology has changed so much over the last few years I can't help wondering what would be in this shot in, say, 10 years' time. :)

Good idea, I guess we write from left to write so we see timelines from left to right as well - I wonder if those who write from right to left would differ in that view :)?

Good idea Andy and very appropriate too - liked to have seen a bit of space at each end at the side of the last cameras

And welcome of course :D

Welcome to the 52s Andy...

It's not a bad start and as said before the composition needs working on to really give it some bite...

and always give yourself a bit of room at the edges so it looks less compressed...

but don't be put off as you will learn loads from doing the 52s rather than just looking...good luck...

Welcome to the 52s Andy. It's a great idea, but I feel it's a little let down by the sizing... There's not enough detail in each camera, but you do have way way too many cameras. Personally, I don't think the right to left is too much of an issue, but I do agree, you need a little clear space on the ends... Here's a thought of an option for Reshoot (which coincidentally has come out this week :D)... Take 3 or 4 of the cameras, run them front to back, diagonally through the frame, newest front or back, then focus on the one at the front, and use aperture and DOF to gradually blur the others out of focus as you pass through the frame. I hope that makes sense, and you don't mind me making a suggestion.

Thanks guys, ill reshoot that again when I get some time. Got 2 themes to think of this week first :)

Great inrtpretation on the theme. I remember the slogan!

Needs a bit more contrast and maybe a little sharpening but good attempt

thanks, i should really edit my pictures before posting should i? oh well theres next time

Nice take on the theme Andy. I guess it depends on how you are shooting. Shooting in jpg (which I think you are with that camera) you may not need to edit, but sometimes it can help bring out the image better anyway.

I think it´s something we pretty much all do in one way or another. With my Canon 30D the images always come out a bit flat and also need sharpening especially as we have to resize them for here. Or maybe it´s just the way I take them :D

Wanted to get some animals at night but at a while of waiting I gave up and just took this

Nicely done Andy, I had a play with this effect myslef, but mine are not as nice and clear as yours! It was great fun though. :D

well done

Catch up time for me:

Freedom: - nice idea, and I remember the slogan, too! The train looks like a well loved toy and I like the composition. A bit more contrast would be great, but that's just a minor niggle. :)

Night: - well captured. I've only ever thought about doing this from above, and I like your street level version. The street and other lights add interest, too.:clap:

Jean

Doesn't work for me Andy sorry, light trails was a good idea but it needed a more interesting scene to start with. A different angle, an hour later and avoiding the street light in the scene might have helped.

Well done for having a go at the light trails though, hope you don't mind me being critical.

That was just before 11:00  Thanks for the advice aswell

Cheers guys

Andy, the sky doesn't get dark till 2330... might look dark to your eye... but it's not. It's a good go at it, I'm sure these aren't easy. The large streetlight is somewhat distracting so somewhere without it might be better. I do like the 30mph sign in the shot... especially with the trail as it makes me ask exactly what speed was the driver doing.

Sarah... set a longish exposure (30s or so) with the camera on a tripod... A really busy road will get you more trails. I've not tried it as yet, so can't help with specific settings.

Dont use 30, 20 at the max aswell as maybe F8-F11.

Thanks jgs, I didnt see that 30 miles per hour sign

Thanks both.
I think that might count me out. I only have a Fuji S1000 - the longest exposure is 8s and I can't go beyond F6.4
I might give it a try, but I don't think the results will be that great :'(
On the plus side, it's another reason to think about upgrading my camera.

I have a fuji bridge camera, I am only limited to 4 seconds on it on S mode, but on manual I can go to 30. Just seeing if you tried it on manual?

Whats HIGH in the air, and gives off LIGHT: a lamp post.

:D... A fun interpretation Andy. It looks almost like the post itself is blurred... Did you mount the camera on a tripod ? 1/15 @ an eq of 118mm...

I didnt use a tripod, I should of done. Its f3.8 at 1/15 :)

I really like that Andy.
A good interpretation - so simple but very effective

For some reason I'd like to see the composition tweaked a bit though. Either a bit more open sky to the right or cropped slightly tighter to a portrait format.

But what do I know? It still looks good as it is.
I don't really know if either of those would work better and I can't really express why I feel like that

Hello Andy and welcome

I like the light trails shot but there's something not quite right with the composition. I find the light on the left distracting and there's a bit too much empty foreground for me. But seeing as how I've never even attempted light trails (there's not enough traffic around here :D) what do I know ;)

Highlight definitely fits the theme and without a tripod too  A little less sky on the right so that the light is more on a third would add a little more oomph to the composition. And, as Kennysarmy says, a fun interpretation :clap:

Going away for the week and will not have access to a computer, ill try though, but i will still take the fun picture and post it next week and will have to play catch up the others.

I really like the idea behind your high-light Andy very clever. Next time perhaps a lamp that is free of trees may be a way to go. (just a thought) well done

It ment to get the trees in though, thought it would look abit dull with just a lamp post in it.

Anyway better late then never, heres Fun,

Fun at the seaside.

Havnt done easy yet, got 1 more day to go so I need to start thinking.

Perhaps a boost in contrast, but I like this. On theme, although also maybe to have zoomed in more on the people. Lovely Landscape though

Thanks =) I hate taking pictures of people in the street or in this case beach when you looking right at them then you pull out your 300m zoom

I know what you mean - but at least with a 300 you could keep a discreet distance. Hiding behind a groyne might look a bit dodgy, though. :suspect:

I agree with Shorty but it would be nice to see more of the people :)

I agree with Shorty and Toothie. But it looks like a perfect beach for a hot sunny day (if we ever get another one of those!). It looks like the light was pretty dismal to me. :)
