Yeah I was offered some free tickets for Donnington from stuv but declined.:(

Trouble is this weekend we have Robbie Williams performing at Rounday Park in Leeds and all roads in and out of Leeds is just at a standstill..:bang:

It doesnt encourage you to set off anywhere TBH..:(

Haddenham Steam fair. Just down the road and don't even need to take the car... (Mind you, the bags could get a bit heavy) :smug:

Haddenham Steam Fair 2 day event

You'd be most welcome!

Wedding today as 2nd 'tog and showjumping championship tomorrow.

Yayy! I think I'll pop by. I've got nothing to do!

We'll be there around lunch time (got a bit of shopping to do first :( ). Could meet up if you like.....

Mowing the grass and processing orders today, motocross at Irvine tomorrow.

Umm. I've been trying to find out where this place is exactly...... but can't find any mention of where the event is being held?

Eastbourne for speedway tonight - I'll have the camera with me but it'll be too dark for much by that time so strictly as a supporter tonight - hurrah! We're considering going to Beachy Head or somewhere first - a nice walk for him and as I pointed out "Lighthouses look good in photos!" If it wasn't for the busy-ness aspect would consider going to either Bodiam Castle or Scotney on the way down.....both lovely places and included in the NT free day.

Not sure for tomorrow - looking for suggestions......!

No problem...

Well, Anglesey Abbey is over by Lode.... well sign posted from the A14 (make for Stow-cum-Quy). Be busy though - it is even when you have to pay ha ha.

Haddenham Steam Fair -- take the road from Ely to March/Chatteris. Follow the AA signs..... it's on for two days but I've got an all-day cricket match to umpire tomorrow :(

I wish they did do a people filter. :D

We're debating whether to stick to our original plan, or to go an 'risk' Dunham Massey or Lyme Park (what with them being free n all).

Although I doubt Car Parking is free  and we're skint.

Tempted to get a joint membership for the national trust - £51 for a joint one with the direct debit discount, very tempting indeed.

Shooting as press at Silverstone later. 5pm start for 25 hour brit car race. All night and all day tomorrow.....!

Diego.

HA!

National trust class 13-25 as young members meaning I got a years membership for £13.88 (direct debit discount included), sue is 2 years older than me so had to go for an adult membership costing £30, but its still £7 cheaper than a joint one.

I love my age demographic :D

I live in Waterbeach. :D Anglesey Abbey is just round the corner.

Im off to my mams this aftie, Earls Court for Professional Beauty Show tomorrow ... plastic friend at the ready!

EDIT: just realised you could take the plastic bit several different ways here ... but I meant the spending kind of course!

Busterboy,
Why not pop over to Scarborough this weekend - its a big scooter rally so there should be lots of enteresting 'people / lifestyle' type shots. Custom scooters, parkas, etc etc. Saw a load heading there today up the A64. Should be a good 'un.
Me, I'm off to Donnington Park :D

Nah, we know exactly what you meant Glo, and I must say i'm shocked......this is a family forum. :p

I've just returned home from a trip round the shops and the only thing I have to show for it is a small box with a sigma thingybob in it.

Nothing planned for tomorrow though

I took advantage of the free National Trust thingymajig (Thanks Marcel!) and went to The Vyne in Basingstoke. Although it was a lovely place and not too busy, I think I forgot to take my photography inspiration with me as my camera never saw the light of day :(

Sorry to hear that Mini :'( . I'm charging mine up now, its a long time since I took any photos so I'm hoping to get a few at Donington Park tomorrow. I know what you mean about ' forgot to take photo inspiration'...you've just gotta be in the right mood for it - well I do :)

Sorry to hear that Mini.

I'm the same, I sometimes can't find inspiration at all, and anything I take just feels like a 'snapshot' rather than a 'photograph' if that makes sense.

At least you had a lovely day and you can think of it as a possible future photography jolly when your inspiration comes home :)

I tool a few hundred pictures around brid this evening and had another attempt with the moon and failed miserably. Everything is blurry again, manual settings clearly confuse me.

Don't get disheartened mate. Manual is a very tricky beast to master. I havent' mastered it yet, nor am I likely to for many a year to come

If you're moving straight out of auto, try for the preset modes first, like Landscape, Portrait etc.
Take a few pics with those, especially of different things, then looking at the EXIF details compare how the image looks with the settings...You'll see that, for instance Landscape mode errs towards smaller apertures, to get more infocus, and sports will err towards a faster shutter speed, to capture fast moving action.

Once youve started comparing them, you should get a better understanding of which settings are better for which shots.

Then youmove into the creative zone modes, Av and Tv. Which is one step up.
You control one setting and the camera works out the rest :)
