Seems he was a voice and a personality who was always in my life from as far back as I can memember.

He was 16 years older than me....

I used to really enjoy his breakfast show on R2, he was very witty and you felt as though he was talking to you, not at you,

He was once asked how many listeners he had for his breakfast show.
His reply was 1.

He got me through many a Eurovision as the wife forced me to watch with her.

Radio 2 has gone into a bit of a tailspin the last couple of days. I have to say listening to Chris Evans this morning had me shedding a tear or 2 and also in fits of laughter

I'll be digging out the Janet and John CD this week.

I heard the early one, this morning about Johns shoes, I was in hysterics not good driving / weaving through heavy traffic :D

His 'innocence' was amazing, telling those stories to an audience including kids at that time in the morning.

I don't know if you heard, but they were saying later, that he never saw those "scripts" until he read them on air!
Now that is risky :D
