Bulbmogul's made quite a name for himself.....a wealthy individual from Ohio who only started a couple of years ago...strictly amateur.

One phrase comes to mind:

What's the point?

Sure, it would be nice to play with all that kit, and if you've got the money, why not?
I know each bit of kit has it's own niche and an area it performs best in, but surely you'd be better off buying the kit you'd use, rather than EVERYTHING...

Maybe envy is getting the better of me :p

His name rings a bell...has he been a member on POTN? :suspect:

all that canon gear and the image was taken on a nikon D3 :)

I remember this from a while ago, wasn't this stuff for his shooting at the olympics? If I remember correctly the bodies were all set up and could be used remotely or something!

Edit: Just found the original thread, plenty more info about it there!

Neither of them have a nice 'Talk Photography' strap though. Lightweights!

Vincent Laforet, probably not HIS but Newsweek's the company he works for.

Yes, probably so. I think that was the kit he took to Beijing, but not necessarily what he'd carry at all times!!!

Hmm...not much you can say to all that...

...My Dad could beat up both their Dads though....

Is all this equpment maybe a substitute for another area of his life where he is lacking? A tog's equivalent of a Ferrari driver maybe?? :)

The first guy, bit of a collector methinks.

However, second guy, he did the olympics. Read his article, and it was very interesting, and I can totally see how he justifies all that kit - he actually uses it! all of it!

The "Too much money" syndrome?
