Amsterdam..?

Anyone been recently - if so can you suggest a few typical cheap and cheerful places to eat, and is a canal tour worth doing ?

If you are lazy to walk or have time to kill you can do the boat tour. It won't change your view of the city.

Plenty of people are unable to walk far (or indeed at all) so the boat tour might be the only option. It would also take concentrating on navigation and watching where you're going out of the equation, leaving the passenger free to look at the sights rather than avoid other pedestrians.

..and I am one who cannot walk too far so a leisurely boat ride certainly appeals..
How about the food side of things ?
