Anyone been recently - if so can you suggest a few typical cheap and cheerful places to eat, and is a canal tour worth doing ?
Plenty of people are unable to walk far (or indeed at all) so the boat tour might be the only option. It would also take concentrating on navigation and watching where you're going out of the equation, leaving the passenger free to look at the sights rather than avoid other pedestrians.
Bitterballen is the one thing I have heard mentioned - I shall try, along with a fondue and maybe a drink or two...https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...an_Wees-Amsterdam_North_Holland_Province.html
Try the fondue and the bitterballen with a pint of beer and a jenever!
Also this place - https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...Hap_Hmm-Amsterdam_North_Holland_Province.html
It's small so there may be a short wait, but the food was incredible!
We've just had this.
