We need a new AA map .I wanted the 2.5 miles to the inch scale. I think that's the largest on the market. It's actually called "Easy Read'. On the main page is written, 'Sold by Amazon', 'Shipped by Amazon' but just as I was about to pay I noticed, in very small blue print, 'Sold by Amazon EU s.à.r.l'. I checked on that. It is part of Amazon UK ..the French subsidiary but based in Luxemburg and import duties may apply when delivered that aren't included in the purchase price.

I Googled it re buying a map.

A copy/paste:

It's generally safe to buy an AA road map from Amazon SARL, but there are some things to consider. Amazon SARL is the French subsidiary of Amazon, so it's a legitimate retailer. However, buying from Amazon sàrl instead of Amazon UK can mean a few things:

Shipping: You'll likely need to factor in shipping costs and potentially customs duties, as the map will be shipped from France rather than the UK.

Language: The map itself is likely to be in French.

Product Specifics: The specific AA map you're looking for might not be available on Amazon SARL, or it might be a different version than the one sold on Amazon UK.

Return Policy: Amazon's return policies may differ between Amazon UK and Amazon SARL.

Written in french ?.. I can't find a page re Amazon UK selling it so I'll get it from Waterstones or WH Smiths.

Apparently not... .

Just had a quick peek at a couple of things that I've bought recently and at the checkout stage, it looks like they've also been sold by s.a.r.l.. At a guess, that just means that the main company is the one that's ultimately responsible rather than it being anything "sinister".

I wouldn’t worry in the slightest

a) because it will just be some tax loophole thing
b) if it is written in French, Amazon have an easy returns service!

Now if you’d bought it off eBay and Evri were delivering it….. well that’s a different matter!!

Seems not. I did a Google and it's mainly Amazon for both the 2025 (red front) and the, not yet published, 2026 edition (black front) which I'd have to pre-order and wait until June 1st. It's easier to use my bus pass and go down town to Waterstones or WH Smiths..lol.

Thanks,Andy but I don't like the spiral-bound ones because the roads don't match exactly across the metal loops so we have the paperback editions.

Where i live, there are no metal loops across any of the roads...

Bought many items that came from s.a.r.l, there's no issue with returns, you just use the same process as usual and the refund comes the same way.

I sell books on Amazon. Their system is complex, but basically the seller has various options. These include using Amazon as ONE of the selling agents (which results in a very high delivery charge by Amazon) and choosing Amazon as the EXCLUSIVE seller, at a better (or at least less bad) commission rate.

Because of this, a lot of sellers give them exclusive supply, which is probably why this product isn't available from the AA.
