This is a quite ridiculous patent. of a lighting /studio set up used by countless photographers.
We built and used, exactly that set up for the the studio belonging to Gallerrias Preciados when we set up the new studio as Studio Riscal Madrid, back in 1957/8..
Apart from the back "lighting pit", the wall was also slightly curved which made the infinity transition better.. The arrangement also gave a substantial saving on background paper as it was only needed to be replaced on the floor where the subjects stood.
I can not see anything original or new, in the patent.
Such an arrangement on a smaller scale, is also commonly used for small object photography and I have done so since that time.
Any one know if the patent covers other countries, other than in the USA. ?
