Yes
I buy quite a lot from Amazon. The service has been reliable over the years.
Today, two separate items (sent packaged separately) were shown as delivered and handed to resident. Nonsense - not delivered at all and not in my safe place or with a neighbour.
I contacted Amazon Chat who gave the "explanation" that sometimes parcels get recorded as being delivered when they have not been. Got to wonder what sort of half assed operation they are now running.

I buy lots, and I mean lots!!!

The only issue I have had are drivers putting parcels behind my bins WITHOUT ringing the doorbell first. Not much of an issue and all else is faultless

Amazon have mostly been ok here but I have had a string of delayed / late deliveries recently.

Seems more like whomever their delivery agent is, is at it.

Their own delivery service seems to have taken a nosedive, I've had the same delivery notice and the item turned up a day later, I think it's drivers trying to get to their quota so they get paid perhaps.
Just this last couple of weeks they have started using Royal Mail again after a year or so of not using them.
Probably most annoying for me is when I select my Amazon Delivery Day (Saturday) so I can be there when it turns up...and they deliver on a Friday and dump it on the front doorstep in full view of the street. That's happened a few times recently.

Yes, I have observed that. Private cars stuffed with parcels turn up. Sometimes just leave the delivery on the doorstep (even when it is p***ing down) and do not even knock the door. They will soon be resorting to the Herpes trick of chucking things over the fence.

This happens to us a lot too, it would be easier and quicker to ring the bell.
Apart from that they arereliable although I've noticed the deliveries are getting later in the day

Most of my Amazon orders I now choose free delivery to a nearby Amazon collection point, a Morrisons Daily close to where I live.... I found that choosing that option I'm finding most of my orders get delivered the following day for free without taking out a Prime subscription... :)

I'm seem to be suffering problems with Evri Deliveries..... Tracking showing parcels reaching delivery depot and then suffering delays.... One showed out for delivery on a Saturday and didn’t get delivered until the following Friday... :headbang:

One at minimum cost where they work their staff almost literally to death for piece rates that somehow circumvent minimum wage while sending their boss's girlfriend into space for a hen party.
Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to have delivery services handled by people in uniform such as Royal Mail and DPD with clearly identifiable vehicles. If traders offered the option of selecting delivery by "proper" services instead of the rag, tag and bobtail brigade I would happily pay more for the real deal. Where I reside everyone is on first name terms with the RM staff. That makes for excellent security.

I hope I'm not tempting fate but my Amazon deliveries have been fine for quite a while.
Some just knock on the door and leave it on the doorstep others will knock / ring the doorbell and wait for me to open the door.
The people doing deliveries in their own cars work for Amazon flex.
They have shorter routes and typically 4 hour shifts.
There's a bloke on YouTube who does this and he often gets 4 hours deliveries done in 3 hours and gets the full 4 hour payment.

Then I'd suggest you don't shop with Amazon.

You can get that service elsewhere*. Including with shops that pay tax and/or treat workers fairly.

* depending on where you live / what you want to buy this may no longer be true.....plenty of good companies have been destroyed by the' zon

I sometimes pay a few more quid and purchase from a company who use DPD.
In all the years I've used them I've only had one problem.
A new driver couldn't find my address so another member of staff who lives here delivered it to me the same day.
I have to say the depot manager was excellent.

Evri are of course Hermes with a different sign on the door though I must admit they have been decent here lately.

Good luck with that one. We had a Royal Mail tracked delivery the other day and the van that delivered it was plain white and the delivery guy wasn't wearing any form of uniform.

I haven't a clue who delivers our post as it is rarely the same person,

I can almost see our local Amazon warehouse from the house, but their service is shocking, chatting to one these drivers that uses his own car/van, asked how much extra does he pay on his car insurance? The guy just looked at me and asked “do I have to tell them, I’m only part time?” I suggested he drives very carefully in future.

I wonder how many hot food delivery drivers declare the job on their insurance.

Hermes became referred to as Herpes. Probably that had something to do with their performance.

I no longer buy from any eBay seller who lists Evri

and try to use Royal Mail

'' In the 2024 Ofcom Post Monitoring Report, Evri was named the worst-performing parcel delivery company for the second consecutive year''

my delivery instructions to Amazon state

''white gate to driveway to cottage. -- NOT the farmhouse yard''

where do they go ?......:headbang:

I wonder if Amazon delivery depends what area you live. I order items from Amazon about once per week and have done s for many years with no delivery problems.

When possible, I get my Amazon purchases delivered to the local post office.

Then again, it's all of 150 yards down the road... :naughty:

Pretty much all the delivery companies' service depends on the final driver and they tend to be on fixed routes. The worst here are the red van brigade with Evri being near or at the top.

We use Amazon a lot. Deliveries are fine when we get the Prime liveried vans, but lately there’s been unmarked vans turning up and you can really see the difference… the drivers rarely ring the bell, or sometimes they’ll tap very lightly on the door. Parcels are just dumped in the porch and the drivers scuttle off as quickly as possible and never wait. The first I know of a delivery is getting an email. I’ve also had Amazon things sent out via Royal Mail a few times. At least the Amazon deliveries turn up I suppose, unlike anything sent via Evri, which is always late and often gets dropped at the wrong house. Our local Facebook group is invariably filled with “Evri strike again… does anyone recognise this front door in the photo? ” type posts. How they stay in business is a mystery.

I recently made a mistake on Amazon and ordered from a third party by mistake.
It was supposed to be on a 2 day delivery via Evri but it arrived after 5 days and the neanderthal put it against a back gate and took a photo.
It wasn't my back gate or any neighbours so no idea where he left it.
I contacted Amazon and they gave me a refund.
On the Evri app there was an option to report a failed delivery so I contacted them.
Quite surprisingly I received an email from them yesterday.
I answered a couple of questions but not heard anything since.
Too be fair anything sent via Evri 24hr delivery has been fine but if I can avoid them, I will.

We have Prime and order quite a bit from Amazon [3 ladies in the house, no surprise!] Packages usually arrive within 2 days if not next day, and we've had none go missing or delayed to date [unlike some other carriers]

I have started to see more of this, unmarked random cars delivering for Amazon, and as you say sometimes they barely knock if at all! But so far still good on wime and no issues, I hope that doesn't change!
