I have access to our stores at work in which I could set up a studio in, problem being its a busy business' stores meaning there's pallet of boxes, paper work on shelves etc and all looks very unprofessional.

I'd be a bit embarrassed to invite models to shoot here on the weekend (when the business is closed) but its the only place that I have a large amount of room to shoot in and its an ideal place to store equipment.

Has anyone else had a situation like this? How did models react when they saw the space etc?

Anyone else got pictures of their set up to share?

In the process of setting mine up in a small garage. Could you put up a few curtains/sheets around the shoot area?
 
What's a model? Does it imply the objectification of a human being?

And if your lighting equipment burnt the building down, how would the insurance work?

yer I was thinking of buying a few poly boards from B&Q and using them not only as flags but also enough to separate an area so the vast space of racking and storage isn't viewable.

yes, yes it does.

Good point about the insurance though may need to check on that. However, we are a lighting supplier with a testing facility so are insured against electrical fires and such forth.
 
The studio I work in the most is in the basement garage of an office building. It's about as far removed from a glamorous London studio space as you could imagine.

Models will work with you for what you can achieve, not what kit you use or where you shoot. If your portfolio is showing good work, who cares where you make it?
