Hello. I've always enjoyed taking pictures but I'm trying to improve my interior shots as we have a new business trying to promote self catering cottages here in Snowdonia.

I have a Nikon D2100, 18-70 f3.5-4.5 kit lens, a 50mm prime f1.4D and a Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6. One SB900 and one Sb600 flash.

Here's the level I'm at at the moment.

I'm not very happy with any of these. Any suggestions how they could be improved? Any extra kit I should consider? Any recourses, books, websites I should read? Lots of thanks in advance.

(P.S. Go easy on me, this is my first ever post and I'm a little nervous.)

Welcome Gwion,to get some answers go over to basics.
This is just to introduce yourself.
Are you using a tripod, if shooting to-wards a very bright window,if you cannot change the angle, drop the blinds.

Hope you like it here.

Hi Gwion & welcome to the forum:thumbs:

I'm certainly not an expert on interior photographer but good lighting is just as relevant as it is for landscapes...the trouble with using strong flash for me is it that it does create quite harsh light. Perhaps amore subtle/diffused light would add a little more "feel" to the shots. I'm sure others more knowledgable than me will provide a bit more feedback.

One thing I do know about though is the amazing scenery around Snowdonia so make best use of it on your website, it sells itself;)

Nice shots, could be placed in a magazine!

Do you know if the cottage has a website?
