Am I out of touch with reality or are some leisure businesses taking the OI! The swear filter is there for a reason

I am 63 years old and retired and Mrs H. is also retired and 62 and we have a grand daughter who was two years old in mid September.

We planned to go "Drusillas Park" at Alfriston, East Sussex tomorrow (30.09.2013) and discovered on there website that it would cost us as two "Old Dears" £14.99 each AND £15.99 for an infant of 2 years and 2 weeks.

Is it me or is the world going CRAZY ?

Paul, if you buy on line tonight for tickets tomorrow the deal for a family of 3 is £37.49. Still blooming expensive if you ask me but a bit of a saving.

I thought the child in question was 1 year and 10 months old?

They arn't exactly going to ID him/her.

Also I was sure you were "long term disabled" and your wife is your carer. Am I mistaken? :)

I usually find it's a bit of both!

When my children were younger, I was always unpleasantly surprised at the cost of admission to some places. This then turned to despair at paying even more for lunch in their cafe. And to round off the visit, the exit is always through the gift shop!

Steve.

Exactly. Usually these places class a child as 3 and under.

My wife's working in Denmark for the next couple of months. I'm flying out to spend a week with her in November. The flight from Bristol to Copenhagen will cost about fifty quid.

Return.

Strange old world.

We visited the Alsace in June, and it highlighted what "Rip off Britain" is really like.
Most of the gardens, parks are free, with castles costing about 6 - 8 Euros for an adult (children are always half that price). There are suberb zoological gardens in Mulhouse, which are 13 Euros for an adult and 6 Euros for a child.

were they subsidised by the government ? - if not who paid for the maintenance ? ( and in the case of the zoo's what else did they do - the reason places like marwell and paignton cost so much is not just the upkeep, but also all the work they do with endangered species overseas)

We were past the cut off point for the next day, I had tried it.

You could get away with telling "Porkies" about the infants age but walking around with a 5D III and a 70-200 attached sorta says I'm not disabled.

If, discounts are going to be available for O.A.P's / Seniors' then lets see a standard age across the country, some places it is 60 and others it's 65.

To me Kids under school age should be FREE where ever you visit and then another price for 5-16's etc. but make it consistent.

Rant Over.

I am not sure if they are subsidised Pete, but we have found quite a lot of bargains in France.
Look at this link to football admission prices in France, Germany and Spain.

I think my local club Ebbsfleet Utd charges £15:cuckoo:
