So I just cant make up my mind which way to go with my fillum photography.
My options could potentially be limited this year due to a possibly being up in Scotland for most of this year near Glasgow.

With that in mind I have decided to focus on medium format due to a number of things.

1x I have about 40 rolls of well expired 120 film to play with at no cost.

1x I have my RB67 and a 90mm lens

however I also have a super mint Pentax 645N which I think is amazing but doesnt' t seem to excite me as much lately and its a high value item to have sitting around.

and then I have seen this.............................

Well my philosophy is simple:- you have only one life and if you have the money go and enjoy something...there is nothing worse than an old person mumbling "I wish I had done that".
I always wanted to fly a plane and get a pilots license, and to keep the missus happy said "I'd pay for all her driving lessons and get her a car"...hmm well she still drives a car and I couldn't justify the expense of piloting a plane much afterwards, anyway it was an experience at the time and enjoyed it.

That looks lush but for the effort of using it I expect you'd be as well going LF proper. Personally, as this is the route I went, I'd concentrate on the RB kit for a while. Whilst not as flexible as the technical camera it is much quicker to use.

i think you are spot on in fact i think that is the route for me.

Why is that limiting? There's plenty to photograph up here.

I would worry less about cameras and more about taking pictures unless the gear isn't doing what you need of it.

whats limiting is more my ability to carry kit as I am staying in a shared house so I want to get my "rig" in a rucksack.

Well, just pick a camera and you're sorted. I'm not sure I'm seeing the dilemma; you have plenty of nice cameras to choose from and plenty of film to shoot.

Can I interest you in a 65mm? :D

Seriously though what are you going to be shooting?

I am thinking more using my RB67 with the 90mm and a wide (maybe as you say a 50mm)
this gives me about the same as my nikon setup with an equivelent of 50mm and 35mm.

my thoughts on subject matter is anything goes.

The 65mm makes a great walk about/ general purpose lens though it may be a bit close to the 90mm which feels quite wide any way. So you might be better trying to get either a 50mm or a 127 & 65mm set up.

Incidentally there is a 65 c on vintage and classic cameras for a pretty decent price.

Paul, the Linhof looks a cracker, but if I am reading your post correctly the core of your dilemma appears to be being based away from home you have to make a choice about which camera to have with you while in exile!

I'd be inclined to just choose the camera you feel most at home with a use intuitively. I get to travel about a fair bit and own absurd amount of kit, but over time my I know my real dilemma and angst is far more about the weather and the light, than it is about which camera or indeed what film. Just my 2p worth.

Medium format is pointless. just send all that film to me and I will dispose of it... and the RB67.

I used to have an RB67 with 50mm, 90mm and 180mm. I never used the 90mm because for a 'normal' field of view, it was easier to take out something like my Rolleicord.

wise words and i think thats the way forwards.
such a good area this

you could use a folder for "normal" angles, and very pocketable :)

Hmmmm can't see why you should choose a camera based on how much (expired) film you have in your fridge. Do you really want to get something bigger and go to LF? Do you have the time to process the results given you work for a living? You have a little bit of time, an interest in film, you need to carry it around as you go from place to place, a bit of money, maybe just get a Leica M6 and put it in one pocket, get an Selfix 820 for another pocket. With a digital kit in a bag over your shoulder all your bases are covered. Then, when you retire, get a motorhome and a field camera.
