Hi,
I got PS 8 because I wanted something to process RAW files as Elements 5 didn't.[Leastwise my copy didn't]. But PS8 Is awful, I have no idea what its doing because it doesn't tell you! Does anyone else use it? hould i stick with it or is it really useless?!

What is it you think it doesn't tell you?
 
Hi,
Its the first time I have used it so I may be missing something! I have connect camera, run PSE8 and start upload. All of that looks pretty much the same as PS5. Then nothing happens, I don't get any messages saying uploading 1 of 230 etc. I got one error message saying unable to upload check connections and battery [both fine] and then strangely one saying PSE has found 358 new files [RAW + JPEG presumably] add to browser? Entered yes and nothing seems to happen! Nothing appearing in the broswer and no obvious signs of activity apart from computer seems to be ticking over.
Puzzled and frustrated! Took ther opportunity to load into windows photo gallery, JPEG and that worked fine.

If, Duncan you mean PSE8 as opposed to cs which as Artona says is also known as PS8 the raw convertor comes up seamlessly between the organiser and the editor (on a pc not a mac which is a waste of time with elements).

Not sure if PSE 8 out of the box has correct raw convertor for 5D mk11, and this might be your problem, if not update via adobe website (requires careful following of instructions). I would keep things simple and do a dummy run with only jpeg or only raw, not both.

Hi, I have just purchased PSE8 and it has Adobe Camera Raw built in, you may have to update to 5.6 via the Adobe web site(please follow instructions carefully to put into PSE8)
Loading new photo's into the organizer can take a very long time, I find its quicker to load into a separate folder then get photos from files and folders from within PSE8.
Also I have found PSE8 loads a lot quicker if you put separate icons for the "Editor" and the "Organizer" on your desktop rather than executing from the "Welcome screen"
