Yes
I have some lenses that an acquaintance is interested in, I haven't a clue what they are worth, I don't want to rip him off by over pricing, nor do I want to undersell them by too much...

Rather than just post the details, I thought I'd ask if it's permissible first.

Thanks,

Cliff.

You can do but too be honest its very easy to look at Ebay for completed listings. Forum prices are bit lower, so you could have a look in the Classified for an idea.

Thanks pd, I've done a search for "Minolta AF" in the sales section, but the amount of results with all sorts of lenses listed was staggering, plus, I'm no expert, not by a long chalk... I might think I'm looking at the correct item, but....

E-bay sounds like a good idea, I'll give it a try.

At least I know I can nip back here if needbe.

You can list the lenses here and I'm sure we'll be able to give you a rough idea........

Okay...

Minolta 35-70 AF Zoom, 0.5m/1.6ft
Minolta 70-210 AF Zoom, 1.1m/3.6ft macro
Sigma 28-80 Aspherical, normal/macro switchable.

While I'm asking... what's a Minolta Dynax 300si body worth?

Thanks.

Cliff.

Here they are:

In the top picture the one on the left is worth about £30, £45 if it's mint/boxed. The middle one is worth around £15 in average condition to £25 if it's mint. The one on the right is worth between £40 and £70 on a good day, £80 on a very good day again if it's mint.

These are rough estimates and on somewhere like ebay you could get bid either side of the above prices. And things like scratches to the lenses ruin the value.

Thanks for that info. I'm pleased to say they've been well looked after, not a mark on any of them and certainly not on the lenses!

I can offer them to my acquaintance with a clean conscience.:)

Sorry, reading my post again I might not have been clear enough! :bonk:

The prices I gave were "ebay" prices I have seen the lenses reach in the not too distant past, but that could have been the best price they've ever reached! Also prices can differ wildly for the exact same models.

I've seen the 35-70mm minolta lens sell for 99p, but I've also seen it sell for almost £30! % wise that's a huge difference

If selling on places like talkphotography, there are no fees etc like ebay so expect a bit less than you'd get on ebay!
