I have my 50th in August and my wife will be treating me to anything around the £5/600 mark.

I was looking at a nice compact system. I know the above is over priced but is it the best in that price range?

I'm not looking for separates, looking for a all in one system with dab, cd, bluetooth.

What other systems should I be looking at?

Without searching i doubt it is. They have upped their game in recent years but still overpriced gear.

Check what hifi and techradar.

Same as them all Robert. Stick a Bose, BMW, Ralph Lauren badge on it and charge over the top.

Have a look at the Ruark range - or more importantly at this price point have a listen to them........

First of all, happy birthday for August :)

Whatever you go for, you need to listen to it - reviews are fine, recommendations are fine, but what one person likes another won't.
It's a very personal choice and you need to listen to the difference in the sound quality of the different units you're thinking of. If you can, take a cd with you (or music on your phone / iPod etc) that you like listening to and play this, as this will allow you to hear the difference in sound quality of music you like / know...

Good luck, enjoy the search / process and all the best.

I was in a Bose shop the other day in Ashford and got to listen to it how I pleased. They left me alone and I got to listen to it properly. Very nice sound I must say.
Went into John Lewis the next day to listen to the Ruark R4 MK3. I need to go back be because it was very busy and a sales assistant kept buzzying around me. Wouldn't let me listen to it. Kept telling me how the Sonos sound was Amazing.
