Challenge Alphabet Challenge 2026 Chat Thread

Hi all, you may know that I have agreed to take over the running of this challenge thread from @Gav., I will run it exactly as Gav did starting on Thursday 1st Jan. I will draw a random letter from a hat each fortnight and put it up in the image thread every other Thursday through the year (no letter will go back in the hat).

Want to try a light hearted challenge??


Rules (there have to be some).


Every fortnight a new letter of the Alphabet is picked, your challenge is to find a theme that starts with that letter, and capture an image to show your concept, images are to be taken and posted in the same fortnight as the theme.

There will be no poll, the image thread will roll on throughout the year.

Feel free to dip in and out, no need to complete everything.

No gear or editing restrictions, be as creative as you like, but no AI please.

Images - 1 per Fortnight/Letter, but if you want to make a weekly challenge from it, you can share 2 images (one each week).

Letter of the Fortnight will be in the Title bar and a message in the image thread.

No catch up images once the letter has changed please.

New theme day is Thursday, (every other week).

Thanks for picking this up Paul - happy to help if you need anything done you don't have permissions for. NB I've made you a Challenge Mod in the system, the same as Gav has been. It doesn't give many extra rights but I think it helps.

The idea if you are doing 2 shots is making the challenge a 52 mate,

Sometimes that happens to me with some threads, I usually unfollow then refollow and it sorts it out. Other than that I don't know what to suggest. Maybe the MoDs can do something @lindsay ??

If you're not getting notifications and are 'watching' the thread, it probably means you've missed looking at a notification and the system has assumed you're wanting to ignore future posts.

It'll reset and notify you again if you post something or as Paul has mentioned, 'unwatch' and 'watch' thread again. (Button is in top right of thread)
