So I'm new to the forums, which came highly recommended by hyakuhei! Somewhat new to photography too, have been shooting with a point 'n shoot for a couple of years and parents/friends always had half-decent DSLR gear but have recently acquired a Nikon D200 of my own :-D

I don't really have a permanent home on the Internet yet to place my gallery, trying out Smugmug and it seems quite fun, but some of the features I'd love are only available on their expensive subscriptions which is frustrating!
What do I enjoy taking photographs of? Mostly everything at the moment, that's probably the "OH MY GOSH IT'S NEW" excitement though -- typically I've enjoyed macro photography (bees, flowers) in the past, along with trains 'n planes moving at high-ish speeds, and events I've tagged along to thrown in for good measure
Shall try not to annoy you folks too much, but I have rather a lot of questions and am hoping to find a couple of answers ;-) Maybe provide a couple too! All the terminology is starting to make some sense, and the vast menus on my D200 only scare three colours of sh*t out of me now, rather than the nine colours when I first fired it up and compared to my P&S
Thanks for providing a great resource.
