Alloy or Steel background tubing

Anyone got any links to reasonably priced suppliers of Alloy or steel 2 inch diameter tubing suitable for background supports ...

I find that quite a few suppliers of vinyl backgrounds are supplying tubing that doesnt quite fit the expanding support units ...

I turned down the inner black cone or bobbin of my expan type units to fit a smaller diameter tube which worked fine. For alloy suppliers, your Yellow pages would be best place to start looking for a local provider as delivery could be costly, but to give you an idea of price you can look here as a starting point. I wouldn't recommend steel purely on the grounds of weight and it would require protective coating to stop rust formation.

These guys supply Ali and Steel tubing in various lengths and diameters at reasonable prices for small quantities.

They do telescopic sections and the clamps as well if you want something adjustable.

Failing that look in the yellow pages, find a local metal supplier and go with cash!

P.P.S. I just checked and "metals 4 u" are cheaper - he started bleating on about rising metal prices, electricity costs and then the sound of violins drowned out the rest.
