Allen Carr dies from lung cancer

Never heard of the man to be honest, but then I again I never smoked.

Still a shame to lose someone who through their own experience has probably helped to save or atleast prolong a great many peoples lives by helping them kick the habit.

RIP Allen Carr :(

Terrible shame :'( . His book enabled me to stop smoking 10 years ago. I've never lit a cigarette since or ever once thought I'd like to! His method is brilliant!

And very possibly killed himself in the process ...

RIP Mr Carr ... :(

:p

^^^^^^^
True - a lesson taught by example in the end.

Only goes to prove that the best choice is to never start - easier said than done Im sure, but thats why I never started smoking myself.

:agree: ... totally ...

Although every other member of my family has at one point or another ... and quite heavily ... I have been quite fortunate in never having the urge ... :D

:p

Very Sad, but at the end of the day, he may have extended or saved the lives of millions of people, at the age of 72 thats not a bad innings and certainly something to be proud of.

I think if someone said to me you may die in your 70's but will be known for helping millions thats not too bad.

This is such a shame :(

Yep, it was his book that enabled me to quit over 3 years ago, and I've never wanted to smoke since. It was a breath of fresh air (no pun intended), after all other methods had failed.

I have since lent the book to about 6 other people who have read it, quit smoking, and handed the book back (some buying their own copies afterwards).

RIP Allen Carr....and thanks...There's no doubt you saved me from certain illness in the future.

i hadnt heard of the man, i gave up after around 13 years of smoking, i just decided i had had enough and knocked it on the head.

Its a sad irony that he died from lung cancer, but the fact that he managed to help so many millions of people and probably prolonged the life of them is a good thing.
RIP
