Allan.H 52 2025 WEEK 52 NEW

appeal - a-peel, I see what you did there.

Those do look delicious. Love the setup, background and lighting on this one. Very nice.

I've missed your shots over the past 18 months Allan, for their effortless simplicity and appeal.
That's nice of you to say Tim, you'll soon be bored of them.

Thank you

Good setup and lighting, like the contrast between the colours

The set up for this picture is fantastic, I wish I had a countertop and background like that to use, its a tasty shot and the colours work well.

Thanks Simon.
You will have all the elements, It was taken on the kitchen worktop. The bowl is sitting on a roofing tile I found months ago and the background is just a large piece of card.
The background does have a layer added after in PS.
It was lit with a torch, camera on a tripod and shutter set for 10 seconds I think (I tried a few different speeds). Frame the image with the lights on turn off lights and use the torch to light the subject by having a very narrow beam and moving it around the subject. Its a bit hit and miss, I took about 20 images of which maybe 5 were usable.
The oranges are from Tesco though they are available in many similar shops.

Beautiful image to start your 52
Thank you Bob

This is the reason why I missed your photos last year, Allan. Beautiful setup with a simple background and perfectly lit image.
Thanks Stan, I enjoyed having to think about it, to be honest I had become a bit jaded with it.
I have hardly picked up a camera in the last 18 months.

Really nice still life Allan, very well done.

Beautiful still life with stunning colours - like it a lot.

As already said - it really works with stark contrast of the pop of orange against the black.

Also good t oread about the way you set it up - I'd never have thought it was a roofing tile.

A beautiful shot Allan and thank you for describing the set up.

Nice one Allan. Cold enough for sure, and the B&W suits the shot perfectly.

B&W great idea for the image, really suits it. Coldest looking so far :)
