That's me all done for the football season now. After being in the middle of my second pitch invasion in a week (QPR imaginary promotion on Monday then QPR's "real/TBC" promotion at Watford on Saturday)

I've decided to take a break from football & rugby for a while. I'm going to start doing some more documentary style sports pics to try a different style. I've found I'm far more drawn to the participants and spectators emotions and mood than on pitch action. I've got a sort of plan so I'll give it a go and see how I get on.

I'm selling some gear as a result including my 400 2.8 in the Canon for sale section if you've got a gear itch you want to scratch.

You're welcome to come to Vigo again on 25th June for the Bicycle Polo if you want something different :D

But also, looking forward to seeing your new style. Have always enjoyed seeing your rugby pictures and feel that it's you that's helped me develop mine.

All the best with your project. I snuck a peek at your gear - my credit card is itching but I don't think I can get away with it (unlike handbags and shoes LOL). Real shame. I'll probably regret it.

Kelly, Bicycle Polo sounds intriguing ...

Good luck mate though i'm amazed you want rid of your 400.

I'm mulling over wether to go for it and sell my 300 2.8IS just cant decide

I had the same dilemma.. bought the 400.. then got someone to buy the 300.. but before the sale went through i realised i needed the 300 and had to let them down (something i am not used to but they understood and are happy wiht the one they did get)

400 is great BUT ... you would have problems at grounds your currently going to for night matches..you must have a second body and lens .. with a 300 you can manage wiht one.. At low light events poor floodlights the 300 will perform with shutter speeds of 320.. 250 even and less at a push.. the 400 will not.. you will need at least 500 shutter on a 400 lens and crop body.. some grounds just aint bright enough.. TBH 500 shutter is pushing it on a 400+crop IMHO

I love my 400 and wouldnt be without it.. but deffo still use the 300 and would be lost without... if i had to choose one it would have to be the 300.. if i was only doing daytime or decent lighting it would be 400 :)

It is a good laugh and a good day out, everyone is welcome to come alonog. I will put something in the meet section nearer so as not to derail Tobers' thread

Ta folks. Most of my kit sold straight away but I've still got the 400 for sale, which is totally the opposite of what I thought would happen. When I was looking for a good used 400 they were like hens teeth.

Anyway, got a few plans on the drawing board for interesting things to photograph. When's the bicycle polo Kelack?

25th and 26th June

It's an unpaid event and no likelihood of sales. It's mainly just a laugh for us photographers and a catch up

I've put something in the meet section :D
