Hiya Allan,

Just seen your post for week 4. I can see your take on the theme with the open manual. Sorry to hear that you are experiencing focus problems with your camera, perhaps you need to have it checked out.

Besides the focus issues, I think the image would also benefit from a slight straighten. It's a pity about the print showing through the pages, but not much you could do about that, it's just the way the manuals are made, probably very thin paper.

I hope you can get your camera sorted soon so it doesn't hinder your progress with this project.

Very nice shot, I like the rust too. Seems to add character to the shot!

Another great take on the theme, well done.

It has been interesting to see the variety of 'hard as nail' images, each unique in their own way.

I too like the bit of rust on the nails, just to add that bit of colour to the image.

Hi Allan, my favourite in your 52 so far. Perfect for the theme. Nice lighting and the colour looks spot on. I like all the different sized nails and the spots of rust add interest.

I feel that either your DOF is too narrow or the focus is off slightly. But still a very nice shot. :thumbs:

Patrick I have had a lot of problems with focus as per previous weeks I thought this was much better perhaps its my eyes LOL.
Tri mounted - delayed shutter release - Raw - Manual - 1000 ISO - f11 - 1/60 ? - PS 25% sharpen.

I also agree the rust spots add a lot to the shot, making them more natural and just what I'd expect to see in a workshop, clarity, colours and the odd refection are also spot on, well done

Hi Allan,

I like your take on the Hard theme! What I like the most is the fact that the nails look arranged in cross-like pattern. Did you make it on purpose or it is coincidence?

Thanks all for comments. Been out of circulation last few weeks but will now press on to catch up. Rayna four handful of different size nails dropped on top of one another, so I supose you could say they were kind of placed.:cool:

Hi Allan, your 'clutter' photo certainly lives up to the theme! It's a nice composition with lots of elements, and the way the mouse pin cushion draws your attention is good. The colours seem a little 'muted', so maybe a bit of PP could make it a bit more vibrant and add to the cluttered feel?

Hiya Allan,

Love the clutter shot, so much to look at, also like the 'Be Prepared' buckle .... and by looks of the things in this photo you are prepared :D

Like your idea for the 'delicate' shot but think it would have perhaps benefitted from all the background being black (all the little bits are a tad distracting). Alternatively I think this may have also looked better agains a different, softer colour background.

Well done though.
