For those of you who need another reason to enter this years calendar competition, how about another 200 reasons instead…. the £200 Icom IC-R6!

Icom UK Ltd are adding this powerful pocket sized scanner to the first prize pot for this years competition, taking the total value of first prize to over £500, making this years prize pot the biggest ever.

Ian Lockyer, Marketing Manager for Icom said, ‘ While retaining basic features of its popular predecessor the IC-R5, the IC-R6 contains many improvements including 100 channel per second scanning speed, 1300 memory channels, 15 hours of continuous receive capability, optional drop-in charger stand and voice control squelch. All these new features combined with a high degree of usability means that the IC-R6 will be equally at home with any casual listener of broadcast stations or the serious scanning enthusiast seeking a pocket sized quality receiver.’

2 more weeks to enter if anyone is interested - Kemble Batle of Britain Airshow this weekend in Gloucestershire should be a good one.

This years calendar competition is well and truly over, and it may interest you to know that there were at least a couple of TP members in the final 12, including the winner - TP username "manc".

I am currently working on sponsors for next years competition, and hope to match if not better this years prize offering.

The Airscene 2011 calendar is a free downloadable calendar (you gotta print it yourself - but hey its cheaper than buying one! Calendar available via the following link: http://www.airscene.co.uk/downloads/airshow-calendars.php

Thanks for organising this Ian, whilst I didn't make it to the calendar, I'm pleased to have 2 images in the book. Looking forward to next years competition.
