sports photogrpahers have this more than most so posted in here..

we have all done it.. back to car and start to sort and post some pics.. how are you keeping the sun off everyhting... did cricket at weekend and had to send some pics during game... kept going to car... light coat over steering wheel , my head...and laptop..

what do you use?

I ahve the laptop case which boxes the laptop in but the angle i ahve to use it ..the sun bright light still gets in/

i either need to black my windows out or pitch a tent in the car :(

Have used covers/shades made by him for years now.. got the tip from someone at a cricket game and since I got the first one.. always got a new one if/when changed laptop sizes.
You tell him the size/model of your laptop.. and he sends you a custom made shade in post.

Of course, the design of those isn't 'rocket science' - so if you are good at building things.. you might be able to make one yourself for few £'s :-)
 
I've heard good stuff about Griffgear as well.

Personally I use the boot of my car as a desk, sit on a stool and have a lightweight blanket to chuck over my head and the laptop.

As said, you can always make your own. Bit of fabric.. cardboard and an afternoon and evening to get it together ;-)
Who knows.. might even order one from you.

I regularly do my stuff after the game in the car and i always make 100% i park my can in the right direction in the first place, i always look at Google maps and use my house/location as a 5pm reference for the suns direction, then i take a look at the ground ill be at and more importantly where i will be expecting to park and if needs be park in a different location so im in the shade at 5pm or at least facing the right direction, i have an estate car with blackout legal window tints over all 7 rear windows so best position for me is with sun at my back as im parked
 
If I do it firstly buy a laptop that doesnt have a gloss black screen and then I use the parcel shelf in the car as a table and the boot lid as a shade, but I have a hatchback so its easy.

Keeps prying eyes out mate and even if someone wants to look in they will have so much difficulty they would arouse suspicion, its so easy to walk away from the car without having pulled the boot cover over so it also helps a forgetful old geezer keep things hidden, plus the fact the tints (75% if i remember) keep the dog cool when were traveling.

We've got one like that too. Feel like a celeb in it! I also keep a shiny reflective front windscreen shield for sunny days that keeps it cool as well as a bit shady.
