I would guess that most people that want or need A.I culling, editing and retouching already have it, but thought I would post this just in case anyone has not got a solution yet.
Because I am on the founders package they have given us a 20% discount referral code. Basically if you want it just sign up using this link https://offers.aftershoot.com/blackfriday?referrer=OY1YY4MY and they will give you the 20% discount.
Aftershoot is more aimed at professional photographers who shoot a lot of images. A.I assisted culling is miles ahead of what Adobe have just launched as part of the new Lightroom update and having used it for a couple of years now it has really helped speed up my editing process. Unlike other A.I editing software there is no per image cost.
Aftershoot editing is another great time saver. You have the option of creating an A.I editing profile using your own RAW images or you can either use one of the profiles they provide included in the subscription or there is also the option to use one of the A.I editing profiles from other photographers at additional cost.
They recently added retouching as well, which i was a bit sceptical about but from my limited use, it actually seems to work quite well. It is great for things like flyaway hairs and removing glare from glasses.
They also recently added Instant A.I profiles which a lot of people seem to like including myself. With the instant A.I profiles instead of uploading your previous Lightroom catalogues you upload your own preset and it builds an A.I editing profile from that.
They have a few different packages to choose from
Selects - This is for culling only.
Essentials - Unlimited culling and editing using one of the included Aftershoot A.I editing profiles, with the option to purchase profiles from other photographers. Option to pay extra for A.I crop, straighten and masking.
Pro - Unlimited Culling and Editing with the option to build your own personal A.I editing profile plus 3 x Instant A.I profiles. A.I crop, straighten and masking included, plus 6 months retouching.
Max - Includes everything in Pro but also included you get 5 x Instant A.I profiles, 5 x Personal profiles and unlimited retouching.
For myself I use Aftershoot for everything. When I get back from a wedding I back everything up and run one button cull and edit. This culls and edits all of the photos for me using my own personal A.I editing profile. For about 6-8k images it usually takes about an hour. From there you can either just export the culled files into Lightroom, personally I export all of the files into Lightroom and once they are imported they are all graded by stars and colour so for example a 5 star image is green etc. The reason I import everything as sometimes there is stuff that Aftershoot rated low but I still might want to deliver but a lot of people just import the cull. From there I can make any further adjustments I want or if I want to retouch anything I can just click on edit in and choose Aftershoot for retouching and then export and upload for the client.
It works pretty well I use a styled edit for work so previous to using Aftershoot a cull and edit would take me maybe a couple of days. Now I can cull and edit a wedding in about 3 hours.
The new instant A.I profiles work really well but I would recommend using those to build you own personal profile. It has taken me a fair while to get to edit like I do, but now it is pretty much nailed. It has given me back so much time which has allowed me to take on more work and this year is the first year since we started shooting weddings were we have not had one client pestering us about when their photos would be ready as turnaround time is so much faster.
