After using LR my images come out soft

I dont get it they were sharp when i put them in Lightroom and after applying some PP they come out soft.

Maybe it's a setting im playing with but the image looks sharp in LR but then put in photoshop it's very soft

hey mate,

Make sure you have the sharpening turned in in preferences and also, dependant on output, screen, print etc. Also, if you are exporting to CS4 export as a TIFF and then convert to JPEG after. I found this helps sustain sharpness a great deal.

By default LR does apply a small amount of sharpening. If you turn these controls down it may cause the effect you are seeing. Also the Clarity slider can apply a negative amount of clarity, giving a soft effect. Nice if that's what you're after but a real problem if not
