AF speed and accuracy

If I mainly use the centre focus point would there be any difference between a 50D and a 7D?
Do the dual processors give the 7D an advantage or is it only when using more than one focus point?
I know the lens is also a factor in this, but would I see improved performance by switching to one of these body’s from my 450D.

The dual Digic processors in the 7D have zero part to play in focussing. The 7D has a processor dedicated to that task. That's one reaon why its autofocus is so good.

I went from a 400d to a 50d, the 50d is far more proficient at tracking subjects than the 400d (which has the same AF as the 450d), bus as you say, lenses have as much effect on focusing speed as well.

I am also looking at upgrading, so am watching this thread with interest.

I have only just started looking and the 7D and 60D have caught my eye.
