I've never had any issues apart from this camera lens combo, which I've always known to avoid but now I've got a FF, the mrs might as well use my 17-55.Reikan focalpro automates it completely but it's 40 dollars I think. Tempted to get it just for peace of mind, tbh!
Thanks Mark, I had a go, it seems to have worked, but now I think my 70-200 needs doing for the 6d
Follow the instructions.Phil,
What will you do if you find that your lens needs different amounts of adjustment at the 70mm and 200mm ends ?

Each camera does their own adjustment.lets chuck another variable in the mix......different at both ends and different on both cameras...
the actual words "micro adjustment"......glaze me eyes over..lol
He hasn't. He bought a 6d, cos he's tight. If Phil has a 5D3 (and I think he has?) then it has the option to adjust both ends of the zoom independently.

I'll check it out.I have the 7D mkii and I have micro adjusted all my lens's. Use the software the comes free with canon. Its the tethered method using the EOS utility in live view. I used a £10 note taped onto a square box. You adjust in the programme until you get the best image, no adjustments are made in the camera. You note what adjustments are made on the computer in live view and then make the adjustments in the camera's Micro Adjustment mode and then check it in live view on your computer. It takes seconds, I did 6 lens's in no time at all. Sounds complicated, its simple once you start.
