There is an Aero GP event in Blackpool this weekend, and I wondered if anyone has been to one of these before and would a 70-200 + 1.4 extender be long enough to get any good photos.

Well I went today and what a waste of time, not at all what they advertised. The planes only flew one at a time and much higher than I thought, so this is the only type of shot I got.

Looks like it was long enough for that shot, doesn't it?
But seriously, you learnt that you really need at least double that focal length to get any useful photos from an airshow.
I'd say that was a day well spent.

Your right of course, but they did say the planes would be 150 feet of the ground and not the few hundred meters they actually were.

Good effort:thumbs:
Love the Pitts 12, what a plane. When someone says what height the planes are flying at..........................................double it;)
Bloody red tape.

Dean:)
