AEB HDR Canon

Hello

Ive just started to mess about with HDR and starting to really enjoy taking and tweaking the images in photomatix.

I have heard of this AEB but dont even know if my canon 500d even have this feature.

If so can someone give me a shout how to activate this,

If you set your camera to AEB and also set it to continuous shooting mode then it will automatically take the three bracket exposures and stop.

do you need to use continuous shooting mode? i set AEB up on my 550, and when i held the button down it took all 3 shots like it was in continuous shooting mode

Yes. If its on one shot it will only take the end bracket shot, as I found!

just tried, and i think your right

You should be able to use one shot mode, I just checked on my 30D and 1D and one shot AEB works on both these, I doubt canon would make it different on other bodies.

Maybe it's a custom function on when to cancel AEB

Same as my beginners 1000D. Single shot only takes a single shot with AEB on.
