I saw a lens ( Hektor) on the ffordes website which is described as Full Working Order but no Guarantee.

I am wondering what that would really imply. For a vintage camera I would understand that to mean its working at present but no guarantee for future. But, I would have thought if a lens is working; then unless its dropped or damaged, it would keep working. Or am I missing something.

Please advice

I would take your initial reaction to be what they mean, that the lens is currently working, but they cannot guarantee that it will continunue to do so in the future. Like any mechanical object, a lens is subject to usage wear and tear and they can fail eventually no matter how gentle you are with them. I suppose the advantage to vintage lenses is that they are all mechanical and therefore no electonics which can fail, often before the mechanical bits are showing any kind of wear, although I have no idea if the lens your refer to comes under this theory. I feel it would be unair to expect a retailer to provide any more than a basic guarantee on a aged lens, so perhaps call and speak to them if you are considering buying it.
