Ok here is my dilemma,

i currently have a D60 with the kit lens and a 50mm f1.8.

I feel like i have reached my limitations with the kit lens and have got a bit fed up of having to focus the 50mm manually. I think im missing good images because my focussing is sometimes slightly out.

Ive considered selling the 50mm and getting a nikon 35mm f1.8 secondhand, which if im correct should autofocus on the d60.
But after seeing one for sale on here, I am tempted to sell my d60, replace it with a secondhand d80 and keep the 50mm.

With regards to the 18-55 kit lens, i am thinking of replacing this with the sigma 17-70mm. It seems to be a reasonable upgrade and isnt too far out of my price range.
Does this sound like a sensible choice?

I hope all this makes sense, and look forward to some responses.

Cheers

We have the D40 , the D60 and the D300 in use. With all we can get great results. You will find differences in Resolution and Noise ... AF speed ... number focus fields .... The D80 is also one with special features. The question to ask is: what advantages you are looking for if you switch to the D80 (or other)?
