So a job that I have to get on with to sell a house i own.
basically i own two houses in a terraced row.

one has a flying freehold assignment on the other which was all done in the 70s.
I have to get the deeds or whatever changed to remove the assignment as I have returned to two houses to there original footprint.

I own both houses outright and have all the deeds in my paws, is this something i do with the gov sites etc?
looking for a first port of call

Many (all?) solicitors will give a first discussion FoC to give 'advice'. AFAIK they should or don't sell their services at that point but obviously hope that based on the 'advice' that you will then engage formally their services to sort out the issue.

CAB might also put you in touch with a solicitor for a fee free session.

Hope is of some help?

The fact that it’s very rare to have two situations identical, taking the advice of someone else’s experiences in an area such as this risks having an unpleasant surprise dropped on you when you eventually progress with your own deeds.

BoxBrownie has imo suggested the best option to start out with tbh.

Alternatively pose the question on farce book and become completely unstuck

thanks for the input but not looking for exact advice i just explained my situation just to flesh out the post
just wondering if someone lately has had a deed changed and what they did, i am going to call the land registry advice line later today or tomorrow and ask them.

as is suspect i just need to get the assignment deed cancelled so the houses revert to there origonal deeds

It’s more than twenty years since I dealt with property deeds so very much out of date with how things function now.
I suspect not a lot different though nothing stays the same.
Land registry is a good call , if they can’t advice, then……. :wideyed::runaway::LOL:
