Right, I am a keen Carpfisherman and often see fantastic sunrises with mist covering the lake at Dawn, I have always struggled to capture theses images......is there any tips or info that you could share to help me capture these amazing pictures? My Kit is quite basic a the moment, gradually getting more when the wife isnt looking! Ha ha!
Kit consits of:

Nikon D40
Standard 18-55mm lens

Also any advice on filters to use would be excellent:thumbs:

Hi Carpaddicted and welcome to the forum. I would recommend some ND graduated filters should help you out.

I use the cokin filers. With holder you are looking at an outlay of 25 - 30 with one filter and the extra grads being in the region of 10 to 15 pounds.

Hope this helps

Carpaddicted,

without seeing some of your images, it's hard to judge what advice to give i.e. composition, how much of the picture is in focus etc. As the light will be low at that time of day, are you using a tripod? Also, the filters mentioned by taxi are really useful for balancing out the difference in exposure between the sky and ground and are pretty essential tools for landscape photography as is a tripod or support of some sort.

Hi Carpaddicted

I am only up the road from you in Rushden! If you fancy doing a morning shoot sometime then let me know.
I need to get out more as I have spent the winter months locked away in the studio!!
