advice on Sigma 24-70 f2.8 lens

I have the chance to get the above lens the new HSM version for a good price £350 but am not sure whether this would be a good investment has anyone used it and if possible could you show me some sample pics?

Do a search on ebay how much they go for used, and then decide.

I had it on my 5D2 was very sharp but has a lot of vignetting at 24mm wide open but on a crop this won't be a problem.
