Still in the dark ages with my Dell 19" 4x3 monitor and looking to upgrade to a newer model. Budget not massive probably in the £300 region.

The graphics card in my PC is an ATI Radeon HD5400 Series. Any advice would be most welcome.

I've got a Dell U2713HM and it is great. There is a H (no M) version which is even better and more expensive again. But I love the 27" size. The resolution is 2560x1440 which is awesome for just about everything.

I picked mine up second hand and it was well within your budget if you don't mind used.

The Dell U2713HM is now discontinued. Stocks still exist, though. The U2713H is still available however.

Both are outside the OP's budget though.

The U2415 is a good choice at your budget, as is the stalwart U2412M. The latter being an absolute bargain. The U2415 only has display port connection I think... you may need to check that, and I've read reports of excessive IPS "glow" with that model... but I've not managed to get my hands on one yet to confirm this.

All these apart from the U2713HM are sRGB standard gamut screens. The U2713H is 99% Adobe RGB gamut... but is considerably outside your £300. The U2713H can also be hardware profiled with the X-Rite i1 Display Pro and Dell's own software. If you can stretch to the H... it's really very good.

If you can find someone still stocking the U2713HM, then it will be a bargain and worth spending the extra on too.

I'm really pleased with my U2723H which I have had for a few weeks now. Paid around £400 from the cheap refurbished reseller off eBay. It has a few scuff marks on the bezel but nothing that noticeable, saves around £130 from a new model.

I picked up a U2713HM today, mint for 250 quid. I hope its better than the AOC cheapie 1080p I have.

Yep.. cracking screens!

Do you mean U2713H? (The U2723H is the 2023 model rather than the 2013 model :D)

Thanks again for all the help.

Can anyone please tell me if the Dell 2412M comes in both TFT and IPS? Some of the adverts are a bit confusing.

Well I received the 2713HM display and I must say very impressed. Running via an Acer laptop with Intel 4400 / GeForce 840m, HDMI to DVI converter, achieving custom resolution 2560 x 1440 @ 41hz Runs very smoothly.
Very happy with this screen.
