I have a quiet week work wise at the end of March 25th -30th just as the clocks change and Im considering going to Mull for a few days Mon-Fri.
Has anyone got any thoughts on what might be around up there at this early time of year ........or is it a bit early ?
Its a 200 mile drive to Oban which Im not concerned about and it will be a small adventure as I haven't been before, but Id be disappointed if I got there and there was nothing to photograph. :help:

When you get off the ferry, turn right and drive along to Tobermorry, when you get to the single track road theres 3( I think ) wrecked fishing boats, can get a great pic or 2 there depending on the light. when you get to Tobermorry you should get a great pic across the harbour, then drive through the town up the steep hill untill you come to a small rounabout, take the second exit and just drive, loads of stunning views and scenery along the way.

Keith , Thanks for the reply , Im planning to do some landscape shots , splitting 50-50 with some wildlife as well but Im just a little concerned that it could be a bit early in the year for the wildlife to have made an appearance.

I did the same trip a couple of years ago in January and found Mull to be a superb place.

I went on a wildlife tour with this chap: http://mullwildlifetours.co.uk/. He knew all the best spots on the island and we saw golden and sea eagles, otters, deer, seals and loads of other birds. Worth getting in touch with him. Me and my pal stayed in a little cottage just near the harbour.

From a landscape perspective, I was hoping for snowy hills but didn't get any, so there was a lot of seascape and river work. Some examples, with place names so you can find them again.

Hi Pedalman,
Sorry but only just found your thread, but having visited Mull for many years,I hope I can help,
If it is wildlife, then Otters can be found near the old pier at Torosay castle( park on car park then follow path towards coast past narrow gauge rail station then past cottage throw wrought iron gate. Otters also on road to Iona near to fork junction of coast road road heading north.

Birds, everywhere. Seafood, at 'Cafe Fish' at the old harbour masters station tobermory, so fresh the fish is caught by the owners from their own boat.

Have fun
