Am using a mac, with all latest OS updates and most up to date aperture and iPhoto.

My problem is on my Panasonic G2 it recognises only as a read only device, so I can import the photos on to computer, but cannot delete after import, meaning I have to do this manually. Any suggestions? Or know of any drivers?

It's better deleting from the camera to be honest. I think there is a less card corruption if you only let one device fiddle with them. I just do a mass delete after a few imports. Then I'd probably reformat the card after a few mass deletes.

As above, it's better to delete in camera anyway.

If you check the properties of the camera it may have it flagged as a read only device?

As others have said, once I have copied and backed up my files I always re-format the card to ensure I have a clean and uncorrupt starting point for my next shoot. (NB I don't delete in camera just do a straight format - i think it's simpler and cleaner)

Had a look but no option.

The reason I want to be able to delete is so can write on to the card through the camera, as I don't have an sdhc compatible memory card reader, absolute nightmare over Christmas trying to put some photos on a spare memory card

You might find that you can't write back to the card while in the camera. For some reason (not sure what) I've had this with a PC connected to a Canon 5D MkII. Images copied back to the card were unreadable in camera.
You really should reformat the card in camera.

Cheers for the input, might have to put hand in my wallet and buy a new memory card reader
