Hi all, I'm looking at getting a new macro lens for my camera (Canon fit) and I wanted to get some more opinions on which lens to get. Being a student I don't have a huge budget but I've been looking at a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 lens. It's got lots of good reviews and the sample photos look good although I know they're not a huge amount to judge it on. What do you guys think of it, and do you have any other suggestions for a lens in a similar price range? Here's a link to the Sigma I've been looking at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-105mm-Macro-Canon-Cameras/dp/B0058NYVXG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403104653&sr=8-1&keywords=Sigma MACRO 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM

I think lots of people on here recommend this lens even over the Nikon - it was recommended to me when I asked

You would be lucky to get a good used Nikon 105mm f2.8 VR for £450 and new they are a lot more

At the current Amozon price of £379 for the Sigma 105 VR, it would seem to be a 'no brainer' !
I own the Sigma 105 VR, and have found it to be a superb lens, both in build and optical quality (although unlike the Nikon 105, it is not weatherproofed).
The quality of the images it produces does't cease to blow me away ! :)
Highly recommended, especially at current prices !

Hope this helps with your buying decision....
