Do i need any type of photography degree to get a job in anything photography?

Or should i just end up doing like an SWPP or get experiance from jobs etc.
As i really don't want to have to go to university and spend 3-4 years studying stuff, im what 22 already and just dont have the time right now to do that stuff. I have a fair ammount of photography knowledge.

What did all you people do to get jobs in areas of photography

As i am originally trained as an IT Tech and currently still doing my CCNA and Oracle stuff, and photography for me is just a hobby but lately it's been really taking off

i belive you will find it hard to get a job without the correct qualifacation's and especailly with out refrences for working in the industry i belive it would probally be imposible

But at the same time an SWPP is a qualification as well.
I also have a photography job referance, done a photoshoot for a clothes company.

Have you tried looking up open university courses to do with photography, or local coleges/uni's or other home study courses??
