Hi there,

If anyone has 5 mins free to have a quick look at my website, I'd very grateful for any feedback or ideas for improvement.

The main purpose of the site is for me to have somewhere to write about what I love doing, and also to hopefully to attract some local models so I can practice portraiture.

At the moment, I think the key thing missing is some quality images, but I'm working on that. :)

Thanks for your time, look forward to hearing what people think.

Im a big fan of your site , Chris. Well laidout , good information , clean and lovely photos. My only critism is i would love to see you do some tutorials on some of your work , maybe someone videoing you whilst on a shot or doing some strobe work , then follow it through with the post processing you do .

Thank you very much for the kind words. :)

Funny that you mention videos, it's something I've been thinking about for a long time. So watch this space! :)

Nice little site you got going there - one thing I would say for the homepage is make theimages for about etc the hyperlink, not just the text on it.

It is nicely laid out, and intuitive to use, and you got the less than 3/4 clicks to get where you want to go functionality in it!

Is it Wordpress - just installed this on my website, so that I can run a photoblog alongside the behemoth of the main site

Hi, hope nobody minds me bringing up this old thread.

In the last 8 months I have shot my first solo wedding and client portrait photo shoots. I also have some fantastic opportunities coming up in the rest of the year as well that are going to provide me a lot of exposure, thanks to some of the amazing photographers i'll be second shooting for. I'm hoping that the extra exposure / expanded portfolio will kick start my own business.

I would grateful for any opinions about my site as it is now, and how it would come across to a potential client.

Thanks for looking

The site looks really nice and you've clearly put a lot of effort in.

The only small criticisms I have are:
I'd have waited till I had more to show before putting a portfolio up on line - your site implies you're an experienced wedding photographer and your portfolio says you've shot one wedding.

i really don't like those B&W conversions - I don't know if it's a trendy action or something new but they just look like a pool of mid grey to me as a photographer.

There are a couple of shooting angles in your portraits that ought to be avoided as they're not flattering. You're still learning and you need to be able to 'see' the picture from an observer / customer perspective rather than liking it because you've got the lighting, focus, exposure bang on.

But the site's looking good, well laid out, interesting content and some good photos.

Chris.

Very well designed site, looks like this is a wordpress site?
I am too using wordpress, but your's looks a 100 times more professional, which theme is this if it is indeed wordpress?
